Vision, purpose and values
Our vision
People with allergies have all the information they need to manage their allergies well, to lead active, healthy lives and to participate fully in the community. People caring for children with allergies have the information, skills and systems they need to manage allergies in ways that enhance children’s wellbeing.
Our purpose
We support people with allergies to lead active, healthy lives by:
- Making allergy information easily accessible
- Developing systems that enable clear and efficient communication about allergies
- Assisting organisations to develop effective and legally compliant systems of allergy management.
Our values
We value:
- Inclusion – We support people with allergies to participate fully in the community. We engage with people from diverse walks of life and value their contributions. We try to communicate in accessible and respectful ways.
- Partnerships – We recognise that in the end, it is people with allergies and those who care for them who have the greatest effect on their wellbeing. We aim to be a partner assisting in this process. We build relationships with parents, industry, government, the education sector, the medical profession, the non-profit sector, and other groups. Working together we can achieve much more than any of us can individually.
- Practical solutions – We develop products that are efficient, sensible and useful in everyday life and work. We are committed to finding practical approaches that really work. We aim to lower stress levels and keep expectations realistic.
- Creativity – We look for new and innovative approaches based on sound evidence. There’s much scope for better management of allergies in the community and we actively explore this space. We welcome challenges and use them as the impetus for creating new possibilities.
